• Welcome to Oxbow Farm!

We offer wholesome produce, hospitality, and ecological education

Our Mission

Inspired by the Catholic Worker Movement, Julie and John started Oxbow Farm in 2020 with the mission of sharing the joys and challenges of farm life with others. We use organic practices and offer produce, hospitality, and educational opportunities to anyone in material or spiritual need.

We started small with a plant sale, a flock of laying hens, and about a quarter acre in diversified fruit and vegetable production. 2021 was our first full season in operation and we successfully hosted a few community events, spiritual retreats, offered on-farm education and volunteer opportunities, and donated over 2000 lbs of our produce to local pantries. In 2022 we started a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program where you can opt to sponsor a share for someone in need. We also sell our produce at the Govans Farmers' Market on  5104 York Road every Wednesday 3-6pm June - September. You can also shop at our farm stand every Friday from 2pm-6pm in the barn starting June 9th, 2023!

We often do community potlucks in our barn and bonfires down by the pond. Get on our quarterly newsletter (sign up below or email julie@oxbowfarm.net) if you want to hear about farm news and upcoming events. You can support our mission by shopping our plant sale, visiting us at our farm stand or farmers market, joining our CSA, or coming to a community event. You can also donate to support our work!

We are partnering with our friends at Veteran Compost again this year to get your garden off to a great start with our plants and their compost!  We offer 100 different varieties of our favorite vegetables, flowers and herbs that we grow on our own farm. You can also order Veteran Compost products for pick up along with your plants throughout the spring planting season at sites in DC, Baltimore, Aberdeen, and our farm in Parkton.

Join us for a plant sale and potluck at the farm on Saturday, May 4th, 2024!

We recommend pre-ordering because some things will likely sell out, but we will have extra plants for you to browse at the farm on Saturday, May 4th between 2-6pm in the barn. You're invited to walk around the farm and stay for a community potluck dinner that will start at 6pm followed by a bonfire by the pond.

Join our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)!

Oxbow Farm Christmas Barn Party and Bonfire
December 21st, 2021 6pm

Phase one of our barn renovation project is done! Come see the new roof, siding, doors, and windows. We had a great Amish crew from Lancaster do the work, so our beautiful 1800's bank barn should be good to go for another couple hundred years or so.

As usual, we will have snacks and drinks in the barn. Feel free to bring something to share, just yourself. The barn isn't as drafty as it used to be, but it's still not climate controlled so bundle up. We'll get the bonfire going if you need to warm up, and maybe even sing a few Christmas carols :)

Bonfire and Pumpkin Carving
October 23d, 2021 6pm

Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate our one year farm anniversary with us! It was wonderful meeting new neighbors, sharing food, carving pumpkins, and enjoying the fire.
